Suppliers offered volume discounts, with spot copper premiums/discounts in North China falling to a three-year low. [SMM North China Copper Spot]
Dec 25, 2025 11:25Spot prices of #1 copper cathode in North China against the front-month contract were at a discount of 640-560 yuan/mt today, with an average discount of 600 yuan/mt, down 50 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Transaction prices ranged from 94,060 to 95,480 yuan/mt, with an average price of 94,490 yuan/mt, up 40 yuan/mt from the previous trading day.

Today, spot #1 copper cathode in North China traded at a discount of 640-560 yuan/mt against the front-month contract, with an average discount of 600 yuan/mt, down 50 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Transaction prices ranged from 94,060 to 95,480 yuan/mt, with an average price of 94,490 yuan/mt, up 40 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. As the year-end period approaches, suppliers offered volume discounts to boost sales, pushing spot premiums/discounts to a new low in nearly three years. The procurement sentiment for copper cathode in North China today was 1.11, up 0.09 from the previous trading day, while the sales sentiment was 3.01, also up 0.09 ().
